Couple of Christmas Books

Publishers are already issuing Christmas and holiday-themed books, anticipating delays in the book supply chain. A book published last year in England by the British Library, but now available stateside is A Children’s Literary Christmas, edited by Anna James. This book compiles short Christmas or winter stories from some of our most outstanding writers: Clement Moore, Mark Twin, Frank Baum, Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, Alexander Dumas, Mildred Taylor, C.S. Lewis, A.A. Milne, Kenneth Graham, Michael Morpurgo and others. You’ll find enough bedtime stories to fill all the evenings during the holiday season. One of my customers regularly gives Mortimer’s Christmas Manger by Karma Wilson as a gift. Unhappy in his cramped, cold hole, Mortimer Mouse moves into a nativity scene thinking it is the perfect home for him. Then, he discovers who truly belongs there. It is a nice story that captures the meaning of the holiday season.
